Who am. I? Who am I not? I am not a director, writer or a producer teaching classes on acting. I am not an acting teacher that sits in a classroom but doesn’t act outside of it. I am out there, active in acting, directing, stunt work, casting, writing, teaching in other classrooms not just my own.
Newcomers Advice: While I do not hide my skills, or my full resume… Many won’t put it up there- their full body of work, only pieces that make them look credible. It’s hard to tell if you’re new, but dig for the whole thing before you pay for a class. Get your money’s worth. If they say years, and they are not well known like a Stella Adler, make them prove it upfront. If they give you a resume, ask if that’s everything. Interview them for the job of training you- you are hiring them for a service. Don’t fall for a slick salesman’s pitch and waste your time and money. That is your job as an actor or parent of an actor. And many of those “salesmen” are out there. What kind of actor are you going to be if you are training with someone who isn’t an actor,… an actor in both film and stage, an actor that has become a director in many projects, does casting, works with talents -children to adults, does stunts and still pursuing, growing and training from many perspectives ???? You don’t train under a the museum’s gift shop staff and expect to be a painter like DaVinci. Why would you expect to be an actor from a producer? I’ve seen modeling classes done by those who don’t model. I don’t decieve or “fluff” up my resume so it looks like something I am not, nor will I teach on things I have no experience on. I won’t do that and I don’t have to. I know what it takes, and the sweat you have to put in to become a good actor for this business… not half done. If you find that I am not the person to train you, I still thank you for visiting and considering me. I wish you well on your journey. If you have chosen my services, I am honored and humbled.
